JOHN'S MOLONG BLOG: 10 November 2017 | What happened on this day in the Molong of yesteryear? | And your guide to the weather and what's happening locally.

From Molong on 10 November 1916, The Molong Argus reported: "The Military Medical Referee Board which sat here last Friday added very considerable to the number of those classed as 'fit'. In fact out of a total 81 'temporarily unfit', 'doubtful' and 'unfit' who came before them, only about 20 were turned down. This caused much disgust among the men, many of whom knew that they were absolutely unable to do the work necessary for training. One man remarked to us in a tone of sarcasm, 'They'll take anyone up there today who hasn't got a wooden leg.'"
