From Molong on 20 December 1918 The Molong Argus reported: "During the past four years Xmas has been overshadowed with the dark cloud of a terrible war, but on this occasion we can celebrate that glad event with the knowledge that this awful conflict between the nations of the world has come to an end." Ed: I do think we tend to forget just what a dreadful emotional and plysical burden the war must have been on communities such as Molong — and what a dreadful toll it took on their brave young men, on a fit, young population with just so much potential.
