From Molong on 25 December 1914 The Molong Argus reported: "A year ago there was peace, and the influence of the spirit Christmas was all that implied or ought to imply ... Let us sincerely hope that the coming year may bring in its train prosperity and the inestimable blessing of peace for evermore."
