From Molong on 21 March 1905 The Molong Argus reported: "A letter was read [at a Molong Council meeting] from the Secretary Orange P&A Association asking if Council had any objection to April 18 9 (second day of the Orange Show) being proclaimed a public holiday in Molong district. On the motion of Alderman cockbaine, seconded by Alderman Packham, objection was taken to the holiday being granted."
