From Molong on 25 December 1914, The Molong Argus reported: "A year ago there was peace, and the influence pf the spirit of Christmas was all that implied or ought to imply. The nations of Christendom were then in peace, and the Christmas reason found us happy and prosperous, little dreaming that another Xmas came and that the world would be plunged into war."
