CIVIC PRECINCT: 14 MARCH 2017

New Molong library complex receives development approval

A development application to construct a new library complex at Molong has been given the go-ahead by Cabonne Council.

To be built on the corner of Bank Street and Shields Lane in Molong’s main street, the complex will include the library, meeting rooms, car park and alterations to the kitchen at the adjacent Molong Community Hall.

The development consent also includes the demolition of a house at the corner of Bank Street and Shields Lane, as well as the Mitchell Room adjacent to the Community Hall.

The 12-bay car park will be built at the rear of the complex, with access from Shields Lane.

Opposite the council’s offices and the Waluwin Community Health Centre, the new library will expand the town’s civic precinct.

Tenders for the construction of the building have been called and are being assessed by the council.
