WOMEN ON THE LAND: 09 MARCH 2017

Shine a light on Australia’s ‘invisible farmers’

As part of International Women’s Day this week, Museums Victoria has launched a national quest for stories regarding the extraordinary roles that women play in farm communities across Australia.

The ‘Invisible Farmer Project’ aims to honour women of the past, present and future in what is seen as the largest-ever study of Australian women on the land.

The project aims to:

— Create new histories of rural Australia

— Educate communities on the role of women in agriculture

— Encourage community engagement on issues facing rural Australia and its future

— Develop public collections for research, industry and public policy opportunities

To participate in this project, visit https://invisiblefarmer.net.au. Molong Online is sure that women in Cabonne have much to offer in this regard — and would love to hear the stories told.
