CANOWINDRA GRANT: 18 DECEMBER 2018

CWA funding announcement

The Canowindra Branch of the Country Women’s Association of NSW will gather at 12.30pm today, 18 December, at their rooms, 14 Blatchford St, Canowindra, to celebrate the successful acquisition of a grant of $25,000 through the NSW State Government’s Community Building Partnerships program.

“Since it was formed, the CWA in Canowindra has been an important organisation not only for participating members but also for the wider community who has been able to benefit from the fundraising organised by the group and the provision of a community gathering place,” said Mr Donato.

“It’s my pleasure to announce that the Canowindra CWA was successful in their application for a grant through the Community Building Partnership Grants Program. They have been awarded $25,000 in funding towards renovation of existing toilet facilities up to WH&S disabled.

“The project will involve converting two rooms into one to meet current disability services requirements including all fixtures and fittings. Painting and new flooring are also included in the upgrade project made possible through the funding.

“I was pleased to support this grant application. Canowindra and surrounding communities have been doing it tough throughout the drought, and with the recent rain and now this successful grant application I hope it will provide a much needed boost to this community.”

Canowindra Branch president Mrs Jan Kerr will be present.
