Cabonne’s Youth Ambassador for Australia Day
Matthew Beuzeville is Cabonne’s Youth Ambassador for Australia Day.
Matthew was elected 2018 School Captain of Molong Central School and performed his role in an excellent manner leading by example, motivating and encouraging his fellow students.
Matthew is a keen sportsman, participating in the school’s sporting events such as Rural Cup in a variety of sports including soccer, volleyball and chess.
In 2017 Matthew received the Commonwealth Bank Sportsmanship award for fairness and respect of others in the sporting arena and was awarded the Pierre de Coubertin award which recognises secondary students who demonstrate values which are consistent with the Olympic movement through participation in sporting activities in 2018.
Matthew received the Rotary Science Award for ‘Most Outstanding Secondary Student’ in science for 2017.
He was presented with the ‘Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute’ award for Outstanding Achievement in science at Molong Central School recognised by the Victor Chang School Science Awards 2017.
Matthew enjoys serving the local community and is a regular participant in the Remembrance Day services and Anzac Day marches.
He has also participated in the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Door Knock Appeal.
Matthew’s ambition is to attend university to study science majoring in chemistry and geology.
