Citizenship ceremony and Aussie fun in Cabonne on Australia Day
A citizenship ceremony, Aussie breakfasts, barbecues and family fun will be the feature of Australia Day in Cabonne Shire.
A full day of celebrations is planned for Saturday 26 January, starting at 7.30am with breakfasts at several villages and wrapping up with barbecue dinners and family picnics in the evening.
Cabonne’s Australia Day ambassador Sarah Garnett, the founder of the Footpath Library charity, will participate in ceremonies at Cumnock, Molong and Eugowra where Citizens of the Year, Young Citizens of the Year and Community Groups of the Year will be announced.
Australia Day will also be celebrated at Borenore, Canowindra, Cargo, Cudal, Manildra, Mullion Creek and Yeoval.
A citizenship ceremony will be part of a busy program at Molong where there will also be a damper competition, rock-decorating competition, water slide and an Australia Day cricket match.
The Sutton family relay will be part of the poolside fun at Manildra swimming pool where there will also be a number of novelty events.
Ms Garnett will begin a hectic Australia Day at Cumnock before travelling to Molong at 10.30am and then to Eugowra at 2pm for the Australia Day awards presentations and afternoon tea.
