Australia Day … a time for celebrating … and for thinking

Like Anzac Day, Australia Day seems to matter just so much more in smaller communities like Molong than it does in the ‘Big Smoke’.

And fortunately it seems to be embraced with the correct balance of attitude and none of the jingoistic flag-waving that seems to feature at locations such as Cronulla Beach.

It’s something I can applaud and go along to the Molong Rec happily each year to have an early bacon-and-egg roll, listen to the speeches, applaud the award-winners and take some snaps of the local folks very much enjoying their freedom.
