ST JOSEPH'S SCHOOL: 14 DECEMBER 2016
St Joseph’s P&F ends big year with family disco ... and Santa ... at Molong RSL
2016 has been a productive year for the Parents and Friends Committee at Molong’s St Joseph’s School, culminating in them hosting an end-of-year family disco and BBQ at the Molong RSL Club yesterday evening (13 December).
“Whilst the school is small in numbers, it’s big in opportunities and the quality of teaching is second to none,” said P&F President Jamie Jones.
He said the committee had worked with the Principal, Matthew French, and his staff to provide a parents’ perspective on school-related matters whilst also improving facilities and resources for students.
“It has been a very busy year for the P&F at St Joseph’s School, Molong,” Jamie said.
“We have raised over $10,000 which has been put towards purchasing rugby/soccer combination goal posts for the oval, additional fruit trees for the kitchen garden, the ‘schoolstream’ app which assists parents in receiving real-time information, books, additional outdoor picnic tables and bench seating, 12 Bee-Bot Robots, 10 Edison Robots and three robotics kits, laptops and notice boards.
“The P&F also contributed funds throughout the year for transport associated with excursions to eisteddfods and carnivals.
“The disco gave our students a chance to have some fun and dance the night away with their friends.
“The highlight of the night was definitely the visit from Santa.
“It was also a way to thank the school community who have supported us through out the year whenever an event or activity has been undertaken.”
The P&F Committee at St Joseph’s School, Molong, is made up of Jamie Jones (President), Prudence Walker (Secretary), Tori Wood (Treasurer), Jane Shannon (Publicity Officer) and Jane Evans (Canteen Committee Coordinator).
Molong Online went along to snap some of the great disco action and those memorable meetings with Santa.
