GARDENING NEWS: POSTED 3 MARCH

Garden organics clean-up

Cabonne Council will provide residents with a garden-organics clean-up service between 14-18 March, so please put items for collection out by Sunday 13 March.

The service will be provided on behalf of council by JR Richards & Sons (Phone 1300 725 415) and will be available to Cabonne Council residences currently receiving a waste and recycling collection service.

Place your garden organics neatly next to the edge of the kerb, not blocking the footpath. Please secure items to stop them being blown away.

The volume collected from a property shall not exceed two cubic metres (about standard 6’ x 4’ box trailer). Garden organics includes clean prunings, leaves, lawn clippings and untreated timber.

Acceptable items are: garden prunings and tree limbs no longer than 1.8 metres and 250mm in diameter; lawn clippings and loose vegetation which must be in sturdy cardboard boxes; all garden organics must be tied securely with rope or string (not wire) into bundles and must be of a manageable size for two people to lift (max 30kg).

Loose items and items in plastic bags, including woven poly bags) will not be accepted.

Phone 1300 725 415 regarding inquiries.
