Daily Telegraph ... Nationals consider merger retreat

Let's hope that The Daily Telegraph's Miles Godfrey was right in this morning's exclusive report when he said that new Deputy Premier Mike Barilaro will not rule out scrapping the proposed merger of Orange, Blayney and Cabonne. His take on the matter is attached. Given the thrashing of the Nationals' candidate Scott Barrett in the recent State By-Election Barilaro would seem to have no choice but to abandon plans for the merger.
