Paul Toole sacked as Minister for Local Government? No, not yet. Not really. Except in Lithgow dreams

There is an email doing the rounds (emanating from lithgowratepayers@gmail.com) that Paul Toole, the State Member for Bathurst, has been sacked as Minister for Local Government.

This email is, at best, a furphy or at least only a half-truth.

The email refers to the State Government website, specifically https://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au/members/
Pages/Member-details.aspx?pk=62
, as the source of this information.

In fact, delving further into the site reveals that there is no Cabinet and that all Ministers, including Premier Gladys Berejiklian and recently elected Leader of the National Party, John Barilaro, have been relieved of their duties, presumably pending the appointment of a new Cabinet next week.

So, come on, let’s not get carried away with ourselves. The battle for independence of local government has only half been won and it certainly won’t be helped by misinformed shit such as that emanating from Lithgow.

Paul Toole ... rumours of his demise are premature.
