Molong Online apologises to Crs Hayes, MacSmith and Culverson

On 13 October last year, Molong Online posted an article under the headline ‘Gosper moves to nip political interference — and bribery and corruption — in the bud’.

The article concerned a Cabonne Council Extraordinary General Meeting held that day to consider withdrawing the Council’s legal challenge to the State Government’s moves to enforce an amalgamation of Cabonne Shire with Orange City and Blayney Shire.

The article contained reference to a statement made at that meeting by Cr Ian Gosper, the Mayor of Cabonne, alleging that one councillor had been contacting other councillors to try to get them to change their minds on the issue.

Molong Online certainly didn’t mean in any way to suggest that any of Cr Michael Hayes, Cr Lachie MacSmith or Cr Janelle Culverson had engaged in improper conduct, particularly any conduct constituting bribery or corruption.

Molong Online apologises unreservedly to the three Councillors if any of our readers drew the conclusion that the three may have engaged in improper conduct, particularly any conduct constituting bribery or corruption.

Cr Ian Gosper, Mayor of Cabonne.
