FIRE PRECAUTIONS: 10 FEBRUARY 2017

Mount Canobolas closed due to high fire risk

The boom gates to Mount Canobolas will be closed this weekend in a bid to reduce the fire risk during heatwave conditions.

Cabonne Council has taken the action on the advice of the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.

Borenore Caves and Mullion Ranges will also be closed to the public this weekend.

A statewide total fire ban is expected to be in place tomorrow (Saturday 11 February) with temperatures in the mid-to-high-40s forecast for some parts of NSW. Orange is expected to reach 39 degrees tomorrow and 34, with strong winds, on Sunday.
