Eight-wicket wins see Country remain on top and Magpies coming clear second

There were emphatic eight-wicket wins to Country and Magpies in yesterday's seventh round of the Molong Cricket Competition.

Country (2-208 from 35.2 overs) defeated Cudal (206 from 37.5 overs) in a high-scoring match at Cudal.

Batting highlights included 61 from P Tatersalls, 45 from J Hough and 32 not out from S Troth for Cudal; and 96 from B Wykes, 56 not out from A Heath and 31 from T Frazer for Country.

At the Molong Rec, Telegraph could only muster 73 from 16.4 overs, with Magpies' J Evans taking 6-8.

In reply, Magpies scored 2-74 from 10.2 overs, with N Fisher top-scoring with 23.

The results leave Country clearly on top of the ladder, with Magpies moving into distinct second ahead of Telegraph and Cudal.

If the seemingly invincible Country defeat Magpies next week, Magpies will be joined in second place by the winner of the match between Telegraph and Cudal.

It looks as if there will an interesting tussle coming up between Magpies, Telegraph and Cudal to see who is eliminated from the three-team finals series.
