Telegraph forfeits upcoming cricket match

Molong Online noted a week ago today (http://molong.com.au/sport/news/2017/01_17/
telegraph_probs/telegraph_probs.html) that ructions within the Telegraph camp threatened to bring the Saturday Molong cricket competition to its knees by potentially reducing it from a barely viable four teams to an impossible three.

That scenario has come a step closer with the Telegraph’s forfeit of their match next Saturday against Country. Molong Online gathers that Telegraph could muster only five players.

The really sad part is that Telegraph will garner zero points from the forfeit and slip to more than a game behind whoever loses what promises to be a tight contest between Magpies and Cudal (Molong Rec, Saturday 14 January, 1pm). And finishing fourth means missing a spot in the finals series.

So, what future Molong’s Telegraph cricket side? And what future for Molong’s Saturday competition? Those questions remain to be answered, but right now the outlook isn’t bright.
