Matt Hobbs proudly wears Molong’s colours in Blue Bulls under-19 squad
Magpies inside-centre Matt Hobbs is the only Molong player selected in the under-19 squad which will be honed to 25 members to represent the Central West Blue Bull Colts in the NSW Country Rugby Union Championships to be held in Port Macquarie from 28-30 April.
Matt had his first season with the Magpies last year in the in the GrainCorp Cup competition and seemed to fit into the side quite seamlessly.
His father, Graeme Hobbs, is coach of the side and is obviouly very proud of Matt's achievement in making the under-19s squad, which is dominated by players from the more senior Blowes Cup competition.
The squad includes some 35 players, with representatives coming from as widespread an area as Orange, Dubbo, Forbes, Mudgee, West Wyalong, Narromine, Bathurst, Coonabarabran and Dunedoo.
Preparatory games include matches against Manly under-20s at Wellington on 25 February (6pm kick-off) and Central Coast on the Central Coast on 25 March.
Molong Online snapped some photos of Matt and the others training at the Molong Recreation Ground this evening (8 February).
