Blue Bulls Under-19s head for Dubbo hit-out

The Central West Blue Bulls Under-19 rugby squad continues its lead up for the NSW Country Championships, which will be held in Port Macquarie on 29-30 April with a hit-out against a Dubbo Barbarians side this Saturday.

The Dubbo Barbarians is a side made up from both Dubbo Kangaroos and Dubbo Rhinos colts players and the game is a great opportunity for the Dubbo sides to see their young talent on show for the first time this season.

The Central West squad’s last start, against Manly Marlins, gave the coaching staff a great deal of insight into the team’s strengths and the areas of the game they need to improve to match it with the teams at the Country Championships.

The boys will head next weekend over to Tamworth to take on Central North, who was the side relegated after last year’s championships, this will be the squad’s last hit-out before heading to Port Macquarie.

We encourage rugby fans from the region to come along and support the sides this weekend as they kick off at 12.15pm at Dubbo’s Caltex Park No 2, with games following between Dubbo Kangaroos second grade vs Coonabarabran, Dubbo Kangaroos first grade vs Western Plains and Dubbo Rhinos vs Cobar.

The day will conclude with an after-match presentation at the Commercial Hotel Dubbo.

Matt Hobbs ... Molong's representative in the Central West Blue Bulls Under-19s won't be in Dubbo this Saturday, having chosen instead to play in the cricket Grand Final for Molong Country against Cudal. Ah, the problems of being an all-round sportsman.
