Cudal crushes Magpies in final home-and-away round

Cudal has thrashed Molong Magpies in the final home-and-away round of the Oilsplus Molong Cricket Competition — in a match that was a preview of next Saturday’s Preliminary Final.

After winning the toss at Hunter Caldwell Oval, batting first, and being dismissed for just 67 runs off 22.2 overs, Magpies’ bowlers were hit all round the small Hunter Caldwell ground as Cudal scored 0-69 off just seven overs, with L Cornish hitting a rapid-fire 43 not out and J Hough 26 not out.

The other game, between Molong Telegraph and Molong Country, at the Molong Rec Ground, was washed out with Country in a winning position.

At the end of the home-and-away series of matches, Country was on top of the ladder, with Cudal second and Magpies third. Telegraph finished fourth and was eliminated from the finals series.

Country’s Minor Premiership will earn them a week off and take them straight into Saturday week’s Grand Final.
