FLANELLED FOOLS: 21 MARCH 2017

Molong Online went along to last Saturday's fantastic Molong Cricket Grand Final at the Molong Recreation Ground and managed to snap this series of images of the last ball of the day, with scores tied and Country's Jock Haynes bowling to Cudal's Tim Kennedy.

Unfortunately we missed what would have been a superb concluding frame ... Country outfielder Brett Wykes taking his sixth catch of the innings to render the match a tie.

And for the record, Molong Online reckons that the decision to declare Country and Cudal as joint Premiers was the correct one.

Hed the match been washed out, Country would have been declared Premiers on the basis that they had, throughout the season, established themselves as Minor Premiers.

But the Grand Final WAS played and completed, with a definite result achieved. And that result was a TIE, not a DRAW as would have been the case with a wash-out. Because the result was a tie, it was, we think, quite right to declare Country and Cudal as joint Premiers.
