Freemasons stay in touch for finals berth with win over Cudal
Freemasons defeated Cudal earlier today to stay in touch with the rest of the Oilsplus Molong Cricket Competition and continue their fight to gain third spot on the ladder and secure a berth in the three-team finals set-up.
In a Hunter Caldwell clash reduced to 30 overs per side in the face of hot weather, Freemasons scored 190 before holding Cudal to 9-167.
In today’s other match, unbeaten competition leader, Country, survived a scare to dismiss Magpies for 172 off 37.2 overs after themselves scoring 9/198 off 40 overs.
After eight home-and-away rounds, the competition table stands at:
Country 54 from seven wins and a wash-out.
Magpies 38 from three wins, four losses and a wash-out.
Cudal 34 from two wins, five losses and a wash-out.
Freemasons 34 from two wins, five losses and a wash-out.
The competition has entered its annual festive-season break and will resume on 13 January with Country playing Freemasons at Hunter Caldwell, and Magpies facing Cudal at the Molong Rec.
Molong Online went along to today's game between Country and Magpies and took to pictures of the action.
