Country continue in top spot

Front-runners Country maintained their lead in the Oilsplus Molong competition today by comfortably defeating Millthorpe at Millthorpe.

Bowlers easily defeated Cudal and joined last year's joint Premiers in second place.

The competiton now table stands at Country 59, Cudal 43, Bowlers 43, Millthorpe 39, Magpies 32.

Now comes a prolonged Festive Season break with the next round of Oilsplus cricket on 02 February. A T20 competition is scheduled for 19 January.

The next Oilsplus round, on February 02, comprises County v Cudal at the Molong Rec; Millthorpe v Magpies at Millthorpe; Bowlers have the bye.

With the top three sides to progress through to the finals, anything can happen, though it appears unlikely that Magpies will figure in the mix. At this stage the only certainty appears to be Country progressing to the three-team finals stage, probably as Minor Premiers.
