Absolutely world-class … elegant, comfortable digs in the centre of Molong

Molong is fortunate indeed that Kate and Ben Redfern have purchased the Old School House in Edward Street and turned part of it into a very classy B&B.

I’ve been writing travel for some 40 years and have been fortunate enough to stay in some pretty swish places, and I reckon that what they’re offering is truly world-class.

Kate is obviously quite at ease managing the property and looking after their young son, Mitchell, who seems equally happy playing in the surrounds while his mum does the chores absolutely essential to keeping this sort of establishment in the top league.

The 1879 building is heritage-listed and was originally Molong’s public school. These days it features comfortable queen-sized beds fitted with fine linens, a modern kitchen fitted out to gourmet standards and a spacious open-plan dining and living area.

There’s also a loft area that would make an ideal retreat and also features a pull-out sofa bed.

The property would comfortably accommodate two couples and a couple of children, and would also suit people looking to entertain during their stay.

The location, just a block from Molong’s CBD, places the Old School House within easy walking distance of the town’s shops, galleries and cafés.

If you have friends or relatives requiring top-class tourist accommodation in Molong, you’d certainly do far worse than point them towards the Old School House.
